Dusty… Dusty, Dusty, Dusty. I love your stuff, man, I really do. This was a great song (as I will briefly attempt to demonstrate, though it really does speak for itself), but why does the cover have to be AI-generated? AI will be our demise, so isn’t this all a little ironic? Come on, Dusty…
Well, the song bangs, at least. And when I say it bangs, I mean it. Dusty Edinger’s brand new single “Welcome to Our Demise” is a rocker in the most classic sense – based largely on the 12-bar blues (yet straying from that formula quite generously), it is a serious earworm. I mean, just listen to that guitar riff – I have been unable to get it out of my head since I first checked this song out some three days ago. “Welcome to Our Demise” is serious as much as it is playful, both in sound and in material, keeping the listener most entertained on all fronts.
Of course, Dusty remains sharp and not dusty in the slightest – the band here is tight and the singer-songwriter stands up to the task vocally, making for a total delight of a pop-rock tune. To my playlist it goes – the question is, does it go in yours? Give it a spin or three and let me know. 9/10.
